Partial Knee Replacement Patient Story (3-month post-op)

So 40, has it been about 43 years ago, I injured my knee playing football in college. And 20 years after that, the Dr. Napa did a men mastectomy, I think they call it what? They take the torn part out. And after that it started getting worse. The pain got worse. I went back to him, he fitted me for a knee brace. And the I wore that for three years. And then I got tired of doing that, and I figured, and I saw I was looking for an alternative to knee replacement. And I looked on the did an, an internet search and Dr. Stone's name popped up, like the first name that popped up. And it was it says that he does BioKnee and I thought, I'm gonna go and make an appointment and see if I could, that's something I could have done.

But apparently, that was 40 years past bio and he says no, he would have to do either full or partial replacement. But just, it was a different atmosphere coming here than it is at some of the places that I've, and some of the people I've talked with Dr. Stoneman and even the whole staff was just so positive that we could get you fixed up better than you were before. And you work on it with my, with the PT people and you'll, it'll be perfect for you. And so I decided there to, to do it, and I haven't looked back since. It's just been great. I don't know, I just, it's more than I expected and it was and I don't know why I waited so long. <Laugh>, you can't, you know, you can't run, you can't play golf, you can't do much of anything in a brace.

But it got de me through three more years of work, <laugh> and and and my wife was talking, you need to retire. And so it went from, it went from being able to do nothing hardly except for standup and work and to where I can do what I want to do. Now, I'm not a runner, but I do like to play golf. I can do that again. Bicycling for sure. I love to do that. Play with my grandson and run around with him, which I couldn't do before. And I, he's 10 and I can do that now. I don't know, just have no restrictions. If I want to go hiking, I can go hiking if I wanna you know, swim or do whatever, whatever, it's, and, and I'll tell you, I, I can't even tell that, that the knee is a is a different knee than my old knee before I injured it. I

Can't tell the there's one or the other, to be honest. I'll tell you, if you have an injury in whatever part of your body it is, mine was knee to don't wait. Just go have it looked at, take care of it. Knee replacements are, are very simple. If you can if you follow up with what they tell you to do, but I wouldn't wait. I wish I would've gone to do something 20 years ago. But at that point there was probably not a lot we could do than what can do now. But now bionics and everything is so much improved that there's no reason. There's no reason to wait.
