The
Stone Foundation for Sports Medicine and Arthritis Research was founded in 1995
as a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization (#94-3228007). The Foundation's mission
is to research medical techniques for preventing and treating osteoarthritis and
sports injuries. Conducting scientific research in a first-class clinical setting
has lead to numerous medical advances and allowed the proliferation of research
and education. This has permitted surgeons and patients worldwide to benefit from
the newest innovations in arthritis research and care.
Specifically
we contribute by:
Developing
and evaluating new surgical techniques that promote biologic reconstruction of
injured cartilage and ligaments.
Developing
and teaching cutting-edge rehabilitation techniques to return people to active
lifestyles.
Researching new treatments for arthritis and joint injuries.
Spreading
valuable information through presentations and publications on surgical and rehabilitation
techniques to professionals around the country and the globe and by educational
seminars and training camps for world-class athletes, coaches, and active individuals
of all ages.
The
Stone Foundation is funded entirely with contributions from patients and research
grants. Contributions are used to fund research projects, educational seminars,
and camps that train elite athletes and coaches.
