Ski Training

-

Year-Round Conditioning Program for Professional Athletes - The Stone Clinic Year-Round Conditioning Program for Professional Athletes offers a unique opportunity for professional athletes to train in valuable physical and mental conditioning programs led by world-renowned professional coaches and Olympians. The program is designed to enhance an athletes' performance in competition, to teach techniques to avoid injury in their respective sports, and to help injured athletes regain strength and agility for the upcoming season.

Ten Quick Tips To Get In Top Shape for The Ski Season - The following article provides you with ten different exercises to help get you ready for the upcoming season.

Train Like a Pro for the Season and Dominate the Hill - There is more to gearing up for the ski season than meets the eye. For the most part, people ready themselves by rushing out to buy new skis boots and apparel; and in more fortunate scenarios, arm themselves with a workout program at the gym that provides better muscle tone. When the time comes to hit the slopes, however, a half-hearted approach to ski fitness more often than not leads to fatigue and injury.

High Intensity Rehabilitation Training With the Pros - In the world of professional skiing, there are two words that a racer never wants to hear. They are not "bad weather," "icy conditions," or "steep course." They are "knee surgery." Once a racer hears that, they usually assume that their season is over and that it will take a year or more to return. What they do not know is that that is usually not the case.

Agility and Speed Exercises - When recovering from an injury or surgery, it is important that a careful post-op or post-injury program be drawn out, mapping the return to activity. All the caution and careful rehab in the world cannot account for what will actually take place out on the field, slopes, water, or garden. But being as conditioned and responsive as able helps in a safe return to--life. The following exercises aid in the development of improved quickness and speed.

The Stone Clinic Pre-Skiing Training Program - This section is designed to give some basic information on how to design and follow a 12-week pre-season training program to get you in top shape for ski season. It is broken down into two different training groups. The first step is to decide which group you fall under. Next, review the different training components to get an idea of what falls under each heading.

Dry Land Camps

1996 Training to Win: The Foundation's Third Annual Dry Land Pro Ski Training Camp - A mere hundredth of a second can mean the difference between first and second place in the highly competitive world of professional ski racing. Athletes continually seek out the best coaches and training opportunities to insure they are in top physical condition for the upcoming ski season. This same drive brought three professional skiers to The Stone Clinic in August to attend the third annual Dry Land Pro Ski Training Camp.
