Achilles Open Repair using allograft

-

  • We only perform open repairs of Achilles tendons when a percutaneous repair is not possible, usually due to a large re-rupture of the tendon.
  • If there is a loss of tissue substance found, or tissue chronically inflamed and weakened, then we add donor (allograft) tissue to reinforce the tendon.
  • The post operative program is similar to our percutaneous repair rehabilitation program.
