Achilles Open Repair
using allograft
We only perform open repairs of Achilles tendons when
a percutaneous repair is not possible, usually due to a large re-rupture
of the tendon.
If there is a loss of tissue substance found, or tissue chronically inflamed
and weakened, then we add donor (allograft) tissue to reinforce the tendon.
The post operative program is similar to our percutaneous repair rehabilitation
program.
